The break-in process is recommended to ensure the maximum possible blade life. The band saw blade must be cutting at 50% of the standard feed rate, keeping the blade speed at 100% of the standard blade speed.
In this way, damages on the radius of the cutting edge caused by a too big chip thickness that cause micro breakages are avoided. For small pieces is recommended to cut approx. 300 cm2 , and in case of big pieces 15 min. are recommended.
After this, the feed rate must be increased accordingly until arrive to the standard feed rate.
